The Plaster Rock Golf Club is taking an exciting step to transform its upstairs facility into a welcoming, year-round community space focused on seniors. This project aims to offer a variety of activities and programs that keep seniors active, social, and engaged throughout the year. To bring this vision to life, the club is applying for funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program. The planned improvements include installing new windows, creating an indoor mini-golf area, and adding a golf simulator. These upgrades will help create a comfortable and inviting environment for seniors to gather and enjoy themselves regardless of the season.

Why a Year-Round Space for Seniors Matters
The Plaster Rock Golf Club is working to create a year-round community space in our upstairs facility, with a special focus on activities and programming for seniors.
We are applying for funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program and hope to make several improvements, including new windows, an indoor mini-golf area, and a golf simulator.

Planned Improvements and Features if we are successful with the grant:
The project focuses on making the upstairs facility comfortable, functional, and fun. Here are some of the key improvements planned:
New Windows: Installing energy-efficient windows will brighten the space with natural light and improve comfort year-round.
Indoor Mini-Golf Area: This fun addition will allow seniors to enjoy golf indoors, providing light exercise and entertainment.
Golf Simulator: A golf simulator will offer a realistic golfing experience regardless of weather, helping seniors practice their skills and enjoy friendly competitions.

Activities and Programs for Seniors
The community space will host a wide range of activities designed to engage seniors physically, mentally, and socially. Some examples include:
Seniors’ Golf Leagues: Organized leagues will encourage friendly competition and regular physical activity.
Card Games and Social Gatherings: These events will provide opportunities for socializing and building friendships.
Educational Workshops: Topics could include internet safety, fraud prevention, and completing personal income taxes, helping seniors stay informed and confident.
Practical Courses: Classes on everyday skills and technology use will empower seniors to navigate modern challenges.
